If you are a beautiful princess and you invite a 4-year old boy to a sparkly, pink & purple unicorn, fairy party.... he will have so much fun and his mom will never tell anyone that he wore orange fairy wings...

but..
he will give you tools.

---caked out---

well...
we're older than we've ever been.
it's a sad day when you have to whip out one of these to light the candles. or a funny day. whichever way you look at it I guess. In our house it was very funny.

Derek and Easton made me my favorite cake and took me to lunch for my big 2-6. It was a good day of bumming around with my boys. And thanks to all who called and sent gifts. I feel so loved! To those of you who forgot... I would be happy to accept apologies and late presents. :)

Derek b-day is a few days after mine and so notice the re-use of the b-day candles. we are just trying to do our part to save the environment. We DO live in Oregon you know. gotta be green.
HE didn't want a cake... so he got a Boston Cream Pie. Which is basically a cake, but they call it pie. I don't really understand that, but it still tasted delicious. And technically it wasn't cake. right???
It was Derek's idea to flip the 6 candle and turn it into a 9. He's clever. even in his old age.
This is the best present he got:
(I got one too, just not on film...)

Does this make him a grown-up? yes. yes it does. But I have to say... he looks really good in it.

Ames party of three.

funny quotes from Easton about preschool:

#1 before...

first thing this morning:

"Mom, it is gonna be so dang fun!"

#2 after...
(when I asked if he met new friends)

" No... but there was this girl with white hair and a shirt with lots of colorful dots on it. she's the one I like."

is it just me or is he the funniest kid ever???

Easton: "Mom, guess how long I am going to love you?"

Me: "Hmmm.... how long?"

Easton: "135 more days."

Me: "Thats not very long!"

Easton: "OK. then forever. that is forever."

Oh, to have the concept of time like a four year old. 135 days=forever. My little guy starts up preschool again this week. He will be gone three mornings a week and I am thinking to myself what in the heck am I going to do? I guess I will just have to throw myself into apartment managing and be the best manager I can be. There will be not garbage on the premises and my files will all be meticulously organized... yeah right.
I think my first item of business will be to make new pillows for my front room and search for a new bedspread. Redecorating my apartment sounds like a much more fun (although not as cost effective) way to kill some time. Or I could exercise. or read my scriptures more. that is always a good thing. hmmmm... so pretty soon I will be either super in shape, ultra organized, spiritually pumped, poor (er) or basking in my decorating skills.
P.s. I LOVE the color of gray on a bedroom wall... mixed with this pear color and stripes... love.
