Easton and Grammy

A week with Grammy

I just spent a week with my mom and it was so fun to have her visit again! Easton wouldn't leave her alone at first and it was so cute! He expecially loves his new spiderman shirt (thanks again:) We partied as much as we could afford and I thought I'd post some of the pictures. When she got here we spent a night out at the coast with Megan and her three boys and that was a such fun adventure! We were so lucky to have great weather (especially since Easton fell in the water the first 5 minutes we were there), we also went to an aquarium and fed sea lions. When we got home my mom helped me buy fabric to make stockings for Christmas and we went to a pumpkin patch and shopped and we also spent a day in Portland just bumming around. It was so great to have this time with her and when we dropped he off at the airport Easton informed her that next time he would fly and she could come pick him up so we could switch back and forth. A week isn't enought time- but we sure tried to pack in a lot- thanks mom- I LOVE YOU!!!! I also want to do a little shout out to my dad and Jace and Krystal and say thanks for letting me steal mom for a week- I know it's hard to function without her. I hope you didn't starve and I can only imagine the laundry pile. Thanks!

The "Eyeball"

So last night we went to the Annual Charity Eyeball- (yes it's really called the Eyeball- feel free to chuckle to yourself.) It was something I have been looking forward to for a while as an excuse to get out and also to dress up- fun! The Eyeball benifits a group called the Amigos who offer eyecare around the world to those in need. Last spring break Derek was lucky enough to travel to Belize for 10 days and help out giving out glasses and etc... it is a pretty awesome organization.

It was a fun night and we really had a great time. We got to get all dressed up and we acctually PAID for a babysitter. We went with Megan and Adam Lofgran and the night included dinner, a silent auction for fundraising, and (of course) dancing. There was one part of the night when they auctioned off people (for a date), that was awkward. I really was uncomfortable for these poor people stading up there while the guy said "Do I hear 10 dollars? Ten? Eleven? Eleven dollars- etc...." It was painful to watch. The DJ was totally not our style of music- it was funny he was playing all this R&B & pop stuff- we made total fools of ourselves dancing though and have a great time. It is times like that I am so happy that I married Derek. He is so fun and isn't embarrassed to dance and have a good time- even when we look totally dorky. We really had a great night.

...This morning I woke up and realized that even though I went to the ball and it had nothing to do with me fairy-gomother... I still felt a little like Cinderella.

And by that I mean that I had to clean the house.

Fuzzy Buddies!

A little girl I was babysitting showed Easton and I how to make fuzzy buddies today. They are so fun!!! An easy craft and they have kept Easton entertained- bonus! We have been having fuzzy buddy fights and I suggest anyone with kids make a pile of these. They really are fun. All you have to do is wrap yarn around a peice of cardboard (75 times) and secure it with an extra peice. Cut the loops out and Wala- fuzzy fun all day long!!! We are planning a surprise attack on Derek when he get home form class and I am also planning some way to use them with my primary class. Hmmm... maybe I like them better than Easton. :)

Bekah, Megan and Molly...good friends...

I have just been pondering about the past year and the great friends I have had the opportunity to make since we arrived in Oregon. It was about this time last year I met some of the most incredible women and they have been such a support for me. I felt instantly bonded with them, and I really would be a lost and lonely soul without all the great friends I have here.
I feel so lucky because I know just like always that the Lord is looking out for me and has given me these great women to lift and inspire me. I have had a lot of great belly laughs and a few crying sessions that just mean the world to me. Hooray for good friends! I really couldn't do it without them.
