"It is so dang fun to have a fish." -Easton

Our Spring Break is almost over and we decided to get one last family activity in before reality and finals are upon us- so this afternoon we headed over to the pet store and bought ourselves a new pet. Now... we have been thinking about this for a while and it actually took us a while to decide if we were ready for the commitment- but we now are the proud owners of our very own fish. As you can see Easton is very excited. He is so happy- I can only imagine if it were a dog or something that actually reacted to him, but that can all come later. As for now, he is perfectly content watching "Sharky" swim around in circles.
This is how you give a fish a hug:

I'm glad you can make a commitment to take care of a FISH! That's awesome! I don't think we're even ready for that! I think we or I would kill the fish and feel really bad.

Is is wierd to be jealous of a fish bowl??? I wish that little boy was hugging me instead!!!!!!!
So cute, I'm so glad he likes his new "pet", pet being used liberally since it is just A FISH. ;)

What a cute kid! He looks so excited. I am very proud of you guys for making the jump. I don't think I am even willing to commit to a fish. Pretty sad eh?

Oh---SO cute! Easton is such a ham! We are the proud owners of...probably sharky's long lost beta fish cousin! We named him Bruce though! Kind of close! We named Bruce after the shark on Nemo! So great minds think alike! It's a good thing fish can still live without food for a few days, because we sure have short memories when it comes to feeding the poor guy! What can I say...it takes all I can to remember to feed my children and myself...let alone a fish!

What a cutie! I can't wait to give that boy a giant hug!!! Do you remember the Beta I had for a few years? If I can do it, you guys can too. Those beta's can survive almost anything!

Fish can live forever even if you neglect them. Scott still has a few fish that he and the kids bought 4 years ago. They are total survivors and we vacation a lot. That was a good pet to start with!

I love the fish...well okay not so much the fish, but the fact that Easton has a fish and loves it! Cute boy of yours. Spring Break looks like it was fun. We'll be in touch soon! I hope there isn't a blog that reads, "Fish Belly Up" anytime soon. Good luck with Mr. Fishy!
