We celebrated Easton's 5th Birthday on Wednesday and it was such a fun day. Full of not stop fun and he was so much fun to watch and he really was into his birthday this year. He has been counting down for weeks now...
so the day began with
breakfast in bed... orange cinnamon rolls and strawberries... he woke up so happy and then we went to his preschool where they made a hat and a card and put on birthday music and danced around and played. He also got to pass out a treat to his class. Then it was off to Chuck E. Cheese with a few of his best friends. They had sooooo many tokens and it was Easton first time there- of course it was so fun and they are just the perfect age for it. It was so fun to see him interacting with his friends and I loved seeing how special he felt that they were all there for him.

All our friends and family were so generous and thoughtful. He really enjoyed all the packages and cards and has had so much fun with his new toys. This kid is so loved.
The night before his birthday Derek was in the office studying and I was baking the cake, hanging decorations, ad wrapping presents and I just felt this overwhelming rush of emotion come over me.
My little boy is growing up.
How did this happen?
I went into the office to talk to Derek and quite literally just started sobbing. I love this little man in our lives and I just can't believe how much at times. Motherhood is hard, and I had no clue what I was getting into here... I never realized how fast the years would go. They are flying. i never understood the word bitterweet more clearly. I am so proud of who Easton is becoming, yet I miss my baby boy and just want his to STOP GROWING. I asked him if he thought our parents felt this way... he was so loving and then he just started laughing at me and taking my picture...{"blog about this"} which I am not posting on my blog {you're welcome}. That is why I love Eastons dad. He is so loving and can always make me smile.
I made a promise to myself to play with him more. Hug him tighter. cuddle longer. cherish the moments of his childhood more.
Like I said... This kid is so loved.

What a sweet post. You are an amazing Momma. Easton is SO loved. You are so wonderful to him.
I love that kid. These pictures are adorable. Bryn had a blast celelbrating at Chuckee Cheese with him! Thank you!
He is such a handsome little man. I love his dimples and long eyelashes. How come it is always the boys that get them? It looks like he had a great birthday. I remember seeing him at Rindee's bridal shower when he was barely a few months old. It is so crazy how fast they grow up.
It really does go by so fast. I think you do a great job with enjoying the little things with your "little man". Easton is so blessed to have such awesome parents that love him so much!
The slide show made me laugh and get teary! It is sad how fast the time flies. Even though you guys have lived away, I feel like I still "know" that little stud and what a special spirit he is. Even as a baby he had so much personality, I can't wait to see how he grows up, we're in for a treat!
These are such great pictures - and I love the slide show. I was tickled by the picture of Easton showing how old he is - FIVE !
We love this boy like our own son/brother! 5 is such and exciting birthday! We apologize that you didn't receive a call from us, yet Easton was in our thoughts and chats all week! We miss you, it makes me sad to not see my boys pictured among the friends. But I'm happy for the times we DO have!
OK, so seriosly, I'm crying. He's so sweet and I miss him sooooooo much. I love all the pictures and have happy memories of my own to attach to each of them! Derek's a good man, I'm glad he makes you laugh instead of cry. You're a great mom.
Love the picture of Bryn with Easton~ that little girl has got it bad! She's so obviously head over heels for Easton, but who can blame her...He's such a charmer. :)
Happy Birthday Easton! I so wish we were closer so that we could go to chucky cheese, too! No fair! My kids are sooo jealous!
I seriously can't believe he's five. The last photo is how I remember him, just brand new. Time sure flies. He is an absolutely darling little boy. Five is such a great age too. It seriously was one of my favorite ages with Kaleb. He's so lucky to be so loved. Too bad all kids aren't that blessed, they all should be:) You're awesome parents!
so true, I feel your pain. :)
I feel the same way! They grow so fast & you think- where did the time go? But hey, it's not something we can stop, so like you said- love them & make every moment count!
Andy says: "Happy Birthday to you"!
So I guess they don't celebrate Halloween in Oregon unless I'm there....that explains the lack of pictures and post. Better luck next year. ;)
