sunshine & gravity

he was ready.

we had practiced at home since we found Mr. Skateboard at a garage sale last summer for 50 cents ...and I was about 99% sure we could make it without broken limbs.

he was confident.

but as soon as we got to the skate park and he climbed the concrete mountains he decided that a little "bum sliding" might be a better idea. he is cautious by nature.

ok- so now he gets the nerves.
I try my best to coach him. {insert loud, raucous laughter here}Not being a proficient skateboarding aficionado.. I fake my way through. "Bend your knees, lean forward, put your arms out..." is that right???

no. no it is not.
hmph. pout. no tears. aaaaand back to bum sliding.

Mr. Skateboard will have to wait for another round of confidence to come around.

On a beautiful side note, I got to bask in the warmth of the sunshine. It really felt grand. I swear I could feel the absorption of happiness as the sun warmed my bear feet.
and I digress... I think I have a little budding photographer ion my hands. He snapped this on V-day, I think it's lovely.

The skate park takes guts. What a brave little guy! I am impressed that he came out of it without any broken bones. We have already broken an elbow on our skateboard and we weren't even 'gutsy' enough to try the skate park. Keep up the good work!

So cute! I can see him in a few years showing off for the "ladies"! But for now bum sliding is just fine! What a sweet picture...seriously, so sweet.

Charlyn,
He is about the most adorable little human bneing I have seen. So cute acting all big with his skate board. They grow up too fast don't they?

AWWWW! Keep trying little man! Yikes! Looks scary to me though. And, the sunshine! Sweet, warm rejuvenating SUNSHINE! I was having a blue day a few weeks ago, and Adam prescribed a sit in the sun. And it did wonders! I couldn't get enough!!!

It takes time...but at least he tried. :) Your photography is getting better and better. You're so good at capturing the moment, I felt like I was right there with you! 9 weeks and counting! I think I am going to make a chain... its only 64 links and you'll be here!!! Ya-hoo!!!! :)

So cute! It takes a lot to just get out there. I give him props! And a very well done picture too!

I love the way your pictures and words capture the experience. I agree with Melanie - I felt like I was right there watching him learn.
