Enraptured

It has been a while since I have read a good book. A "leave your house dirty, don't do what you need to because you are sitting on the couch reading" book. Believe me when I say it is not for lack of trying. I have bent many a friends ear in order to get suggestions but I just keep coming up empty. Ever since last fall when I read the Twilight serious I have been coming up short. I whipped through those babies in four days flat and loved every cheesy minute of it. I have started seriously like 10 books, I got through the Memory Keeper Daughter, The Red Tent, I started Wicked- I just couldn't get through that one though- it was a little to "graphic" if you know what I mean. I was feeling a little sad and frustrated about it... but then along came a little book called "The Swan House." and I am back on board. Not offense to people who like those books... I think reading is just like music and TV in that everyone doesn't like the same stuff. But I am now happily enjoying the first good read in a long time. It comes with perfect timing. This week I need nothing more that to escape {enraptured} in a good novel.

I totally get what you mean. I read "God needs a powerful people" by Sheri Dew but that wasn't really brain candy, more like spiriitual health food. I'm excited to have a good suggestion to read! I'll see you in 72 hours and 26 minutes!

Char - I was so excited to see your comment and your blog. I can't believe how big Easton is! Yikes, can that much time have gone by already? Just yesterday we were dressed like men at the Enrichment murder mystery activity and now look at our kids... where does the time go? It is fun to keep in contact through these blogs. Your family is darling. Be sure to tell Derek hello for us!!

I love new book suggestions. I totally get why you didn't finish, The Memory Keeper's Daughter. I read the whole thing and was so disappointed. You didn't miss much. I am reading an Amish series right now... interesting.

That's for the tip. I have been reading up a storm lately so I'll have to put this on my list.

Hey I know what you mean about a lot of books falling short to the twilight series. I read all three last fall also and since then have had a hard time finding a really good book. Thanks for the tip. I am in a book club and we just read These is My Words by Natalie Turner and I really liked it. One of the first ones I have read since the Twilight series that I liked a lot.

Another aweseome book is The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. I really like his which is strange because I love murder mysteries like James Patterson, but The Choice was wonderful. I've been flat on my back for the last week so I will definitely give your book suggestion a try!

I couldn't even get through the Memory Keepers Daughter. It started out sad and got more and more sad and I thought "I can't really see this ending happily". Thanks for the suggestion.
